Director of Strap and Safe Foundation, Abiola Laseinde identify funding as one of the challenges of the foundation.
She condemned in strong terms the lack of safety culture amongst Nigerian adults. Abiola, while advocating for the use of safety belt, called on parents, guardians to buy booster seats for their children.
“We
don't have the culture of safety in Nigeria, as adult drivers or passengers, we
will strap ourselves, especially if we are sitting in the front but for the
children, we just tell them, sit down, instead of restraining them. So we are
trying to be the voice, to be the catalyst for this change.” she said.
